Howard’s Technical Writing Blog

A technical writer’s miscellany

Howard mug shotWelcome to my blog. I’m Howard Silcock. I’ve been a technical writer for more than twenty years, producing documents ranging from submarine sonar maintenance manuals to BlackBerry® user guides. I became a technical writer when I recognised that technical writing served as a bridge between two of my passions: language and technology. I’ve done other things—professional mathematician, translator, programmer—but now I find the work of a  tech writer gives me opportunity to combine some of my interests, and I feel I’m adding value to some of the products with which I’ve been involved.

I hope the posts in this blog give you some idea what I like about technical writing, and maybe why, and encourage you to add your comments if you feel inclined.
